Do Most Health Insurance Plans Cover A Vasectomy?

Yes. With rare exception, a vasectomy is a covered benefit in most health insurance plans.  Better yet, we don’t charge you more for the remarkable No Needle No Scalpel Vasectomy that we specialize in at West Coast Urology.

We are happy to check your health insurance to ensure that it’s a covered benefit.  Once you provide us with your insurance company information, we’ll check to confirm  your co-payment or deductible so you don’t walk in to our offices not knowing what your payment responsibility will be. West Coast Urology is an “in-network” provider for many PPO health plans.

For HMO patients, please let us know what medical group/IPA, you belong to.  While we only participate in a limited number of HMO plans, if yours if one of them you can utilize our services easily with the proper authorization.

It’s always a good idea to verify your coverage and benefits yourself.  Insurance plans are confusing and they don’t always provide us with exact information about your individual benefits.  So we suggest that you call your insurance company and ask if an “in office vasectomy” (code 55250) is covered.  You should also ask about your deductible and how much has been met for the year.  Finally, ask your health plan insurer what percentage of the vasectomy cost they will pay.

If you are a patient who does not have health insurance, or vasectomy isn’t a covered benefit, we offer an affordable cash price.  We offer an  ALL inclusive fee which includes the following items listed below.  There are NO hidden charges at West Coast Urology.
